Katheryn “Kay” Lisle Swanson

Katheryn “Kay” Lisle Swanson, age 68, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Monday, May 1, 2017. Kay was born in Elyria, Ohio on May 15th, 1948 to Marion and Richard Lisle.  Kay received her bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She taught school, grades K-12, for over twenty-five years.  She was married to Ty Raymond Swanson in 1972 in Avon Lake, Ohio.  They had three children, each born in different states: Don was born in California, Krista in Montana, and Anna in Georgia.  Kay loved God first, her family, church, singing, wild birds, art, camping, the outdoors, hiking, traveling, and gardening.  She enjoyed watching classic movies, learning new things, teaching children, and reading books. She was an ardent, life-long, student of the Bible. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Hitchcock Lisle. She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Ty R. Swanson, Lawrenceville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Don J. and Beverley K. Swanson, Kennesaw, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Krista and Chris Wieters, Macon, GA, Anna and Jason Bouchard, Acworth, GA; seven grandchildren; father, Richard Lisle, Fleming Island, FL; sister, Elizabeth and Richard Bendure, Richmond, KY; brothers, Richard and Margie Lisle, Grafton, OH, Dave and Nancy Lisle, Colorado Springs, CO, Harry and Karen Lisle, Fleming Island, FL.  Memorial service to be held at Prospect United Methodist Church, 1549 Prospect Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043 on Monday, May 15^th, 2017 at 11 a.m. with  Pastor Richard Moeller officiating.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to Mission India (www.missionindia.org/support), Wycliffe Associates (www.wycliffeassociates.org), and/or Prospect United Methodist Church (www.prospectchurch.com).
