Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 10 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel for Mary Reece Murphy of Gainesville. The Rev. Fred Enlow and Rev. Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Murphy passed away May 8, 2017.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Hall County to the late Thomas Edward Reece Sr., and Lola Mae Hudgins Reece. She worked for Citizens Bank for 20 years and was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Murphy and brother, Thomas E. Reece Jr.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Donna Murphy, Gainesville, granddaughter, Megan Williams (Geoff) great grandson, Rylan Williams, sisters, Shirley Brewster, Dahlonega, Betty Hope, Martha O’Kelley, Arrie Mae Wiley, Gainesville, Barbara Harrison, Gillsville, Deborah Riley, Jefferson, brother, Rev. Verlin Reece, Commerce, sisters-in-law, Shirley Reece, Flowery Branch, Gladys Henson and Mary Reedy, Gainesville, friends and relatives.
