Orville Lee Bowling, age 73, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at New Horizon Limestone Nursing Home in Gainesville, GA.
Orville was born November 7, 1943 in Revelo, KY. He had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 45 years. Orville was retired from the Mohawk Industries Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Pentecostal faith. His favorite pastime was fishing.
Orville was the son of the late Roscoe and Edith Coffee Bowling and he was also preceded in death by sisters, Atta Fair Campbell and Debbie Ellenberger; and a brother, Donald Ray Bowling.
Orville is survived by his wife, Betty Bowling, Dahlonega, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Tammy Bowling, Tim and Lisa Bowling, all of Gainesville, GA; brothers, Roscoe Bowling Jr, Canton, PA and Billy Joe Bowling, Winfield, TN; sisters, Jewell Bowling, Revelo, KY and Kathy Meadows, Rogersville, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Bowling and Kaylee Bowling. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Orville are scheduled for 3 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Tommy Panter and Rev. David Fields will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 3 PM until 9 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until 3 PM.
