Jimmie Ray Jacobs, Sr.

Evans funeral home announces the death of Mr. Jimmie Ray Jacobs, Sr., age 81 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, May 5, 2017.  Mr. Jacobs was born in Plano, Texas, a son of the late James Mitchel Jacobs and the late Nora Novella Uselton Jacobs.  Mr. Jacobs graduated and received a BA from East Texas State University, was retired from the Michelin Tire Company and was a member of Galilee Christian Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacobs is preceded by his wife and mother of his children, Georgann Hunter Jacobs, brother, Roy Mitchel Jacobs, and two infant siblings.

Survivors include his current wife, Pat Craig Jacobs of Texarkana, Texas.  Son, Jimmie Jacobs, Jr. and his wife Cindy of St. John’s, Florida, daughter, Belinda Jacobs Whitfield and her husband Tim of Macon.  Son, Ben Jacobs and his wife Angie of Jefferson.  Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2017 from the Galilee Christian Church with Reverend Jimmie Jacobs, Jr. officiating with burial to follow in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery.  Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Eddie Pethel, Rich Lindauer, Glen Hacker, Douglas Mize and Ronnie Weldon.  The family will receive friends at Galilee Christian Church, Sunday, May 7, 2017, 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Flowers are optional, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Jacobs to the Galilee Christian Church Building Fund, 2191 Galilee Church Road, Jefferson, Georgia  30549.
