Obituary Date: Wednesday, May 3, 2017
Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Billy Homer Alexander, age 78 of Clermont, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

Billy was born in White County on January 7, 1939, to the late Ed Alexander and Eliza Smith Alexander.  Both parents passed away shortly after his birth, and he was raised by his aunt, Pauline Smith.  Billy had many occupations throughout his life, including poultry farmer,       saw-miller, land speculator, and real estate investor.  Always a hard worker, he was saw-milling until last week.  He loved fishing with his family at his cabin on the river and going to auctions all over the southeast.  Except for his family, Bill loved nothing more than finding a good deal.

In addition to his parents and aunt, Billy is preceded in death by his twin sister, Betty Loggins, as well as sisters Lois Tomlin and Rosie Jean Tomlin; brothers, Coy Alexander, Donald Alexander, Jake Alexander, Joe Alexander, Laymond (Brother) Alexander, Raymond (Name) Alexander, and Ron Alexander.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in law, Pam and Johnny Grier of Lula and Lorrie and Tranis Bryson of Clermont; grandchildren and spouses, Neil and Lori Grier, Jamie and Stacey Moose, Phillip and Tonya Grier, Leslie and Justin Palmer, Lauren and Peanut (Dwight) Smith, and Trey Bryson; great grandchildren, Seth Palmer, Johnathan Grier, Eli Grier, Jessie Palmer, Cooper Grier, Bella Grier, Jace Smith, Maggie Moose, Charlie Moose, and Sailor Smith; and friend Lyndall Wright who was like a son to him.

A kind and generous man, Billy never failed to help someone in need whenever he could.  In lieu of flowers, his family asks that people exemplify Christ by sharing what he has given to them.  As he watches down from his cabin on heaven’s river, Billy will love watching people helping others in need.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Bridge Church in Cleveland with Rev. Kyle Savage and Rev. W.A. Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery at Holly Springs.
