Rev. Marvin Dean Townley, 72 of Gainesville died Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Rev. Townley was the son of the late Clyde and Louise Robinson Townley. He was a retired sawmiller and farmer and a member of the Skitts Mountain Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Lawana Townley, Murrayville; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Shane Grant, Murrayville; Julie and David Truelove, Gainesville; brother, James Townley, sisters, Martha Talley, Mary Gober, Ruby Graham, Nadine Crumley, all of Gainesville; Six grandchildren also survive.
Rev. Townley is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Etheleen Townley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 6, 2017 at the Skitts Mountain Baptist Church. Rev. Kyle Savage, Rev. Franklin Grant and Rev. Kevin Woody will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Friday May 5 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Dr., Suite 900, Arlington VA 22202.
