Mr. Eugene Talmadge Leewallen

Mr. Eugene Talmadge Lewallen, age 84, of West Currahee Street in Toccoa, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa. 

A son of the late Dank Carlton and Lula Adele Smith Lewallen, he was born March 29, 1933 in Banks County, Georgia, having lived in Stephens County, Ga.  for most of his life.  Mr. Lewallen was Superintendent at the Cornelia Water Department, where he retired after thirty-five years of service.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, loved his dog Molly, and had a love for antique cars.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewallen was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Marie Jamerson Lewallen, by three brothers, Junior Lewallen, Haskell Lewallen, and Fay Lewallen, and by a sister, Marjorie Grubb. 

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lewallen of Cornelia, Ga. and Melinda Corona of Commerce, Ga., a son, Quinton Lewallen of Toccoa, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two sisters, Frances Stiarwalt of Toccoa and Lorraine Gibson of Seneca, S.C., a brother, Grady Lewallen of Mt. Airy, Ga., and several nieces and nephews. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl King officiating. 

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
