Billy Michael Chaffin, age 60 of Baldwin, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on November 24, 1956 he was a son of the late Billy Charles “Bill” and Bertie Fred McDuffie Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin enjoyed racing cars and go carts at the dirt track, and working on small engines. He was self employed with the family body and fender repair business and also was employed with Dairy Queen. He attended Bethesda Fellowship Church and was a former volunteer firefighter with the city of Baldwin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Williams Chaffin; grandchildren Carlton Williams and Brittany Williams; brother, David Chaffin.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Shannon & Shelly Chaffin of Toccoa; daughter and son-in-law, Louise & Jacky Henson of Alto; daughters, Wilma Masters of Baldwin and Connie Aguilar of Mt. Airy; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother and companion, Rick Chaffin & Terry Smith of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Shirley Chaffin of Cleveland; sister and companion, Janice Ledford & Ira Smith of Baldwin; sister, Betty Ann Pitts of Calhoun Falls, South Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends; special friends, Tony Smith of Baldwin and Larry Lewallen of Baldwin.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Bobby Hattaway, Bishop Kevin Magness and Rev. Austin Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
