Aaron E. Whelchel, Jr.

Mr. Aaron E. Whelchel, Jr., 92 of Braselton died Friday April 21, 2017.

Mr. Whelchel was the son of the late Aaron E. Whelchel, Sr. and Cora Bell Spencer Whelchel.   He retired after 29 years of loyal service with General Services Administration.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Nell Whelchel. 

Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Chitwood, Braselton; son-in-law Rick Murray, Braselton; granddaughters, Brittany Chitwood, Deer Harbor, WA and Meredith (Tim) Shultz, Decatur; great grandchildren, Logan and Savannah, Decatur. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Evans will officiate.  Interment will follow in Alta Vista Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Wednesday April 26, 2017 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
