Thelma Free Burton

Thelma Free Burton passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017- one day prior to her 80th birthday.

Thelma was born in Clarkesville to the late Lester Free and Mahonie Gragg Free.  She was a member of Stonepile Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin children, Bruce Burton and Bridget Burton; and brothers and sister, JB Free, Johnny Free, Freeman Free, and Margie Canup.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Mashburn, Beverly Logan, and Betty Burton; four brothers, C.T. Free, Homer Free, Nelson Free, and Junior Free; four sisters, Jessie Tench, Bessie Groves, Essie Goss, and Anna Alexander; and six grandchildren, D.J. Mashburn, Justin Mashburn Gerrell, Shawn Cowart, Cody Vandergriff, Ryan Burton, and Austin Burton.

The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 P.M. Saturday at Hillside.

Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Hillside Chapel.  Interment will follow in Stonepile Baptist Church Cemetery.
