Cathy Mae Grizzle Vaughan

Cathy Mae Grizzle Vaughan, age 66, of Rocky Mount, NC and formerly of Dahlonega, GA passed away Friday April 14, 2017 following a  period of declining health.

Cathy Mae was born June 25, 1950 in Lumpkin County, GA. The family moved to North Carolina when she was fifteen years old and she lived in North Carolina for the rest of her life. She attended  Westmoreland Pentecostal Church in Wilson, NC..

Cathy Mae was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Willonell Cain Grizzle and she was also preceded in death by brothers, Gerald Grizzle and Timmy Grizzle.

She is survived by her daughter, Reneé Hill, Nashville, NC; grandchildren, Joshua and Amber Mathis; one great-grandchild, Layla Mathis; two sisters, Kathleen Ellis, Dahlonega, GA, Rita Jarrard, Dahlonega, GA; brothers, William Grizzle, Dahlonega, GA, Lynn Grizzle, Dahlonega, GA, Gary Grizzle, Dahlonega, GA, and Ray Grizzle, Jefferson, GA. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

A Celebration of Life for Cathy Mae is scheduled for 3 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega starting at 2 PM on Thursday and following the service.
