Cecil “Pete” Booth, age 89, of Clarkesville, Georgia, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Booth was born on January 31, 1928, in Mio, Michigan; son of the late John S. and Florence Richardson Booth. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dwight Booth; brothers: John, George, Frank, and Cyril Booth; and sisters, Alice Ellis and Edna Pierce. Mr. Booth was a very active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Glennie, Michigan. He humbly served as an elder in the SDA Church for many years as well as serving as chairman of Lay Advisory for three years. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. Mr. Booth graduated from Emmanuel Missionary College in Michigan. After graduation, he taught at the Charlotte SDA Elementary School for six years. He then became a self-employed building contractor specializing in masonry and brick laying. Mr. Booth did a lot of volunteer building and construction on missionary trips. He then went into business with his brother and later bought the business, Booth, Inc.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eva M. Richards Booth, Clarkesville, GA and daughters: Renee (Richard) Peters, Jessup, MD, Lenee Booth, Mio, MI, Denise (Frank) Starr, Locust Grove, VA, and Melissa (Rob) Zubke, Davison, MI. Mr. Booth had a very special love for his twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cleveland, Georgia, with Pastor Richard Pinero officiating.
