Mr. S. C. Stowers, 86 of Gainesville died Friday April 14, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Stowers was the son of the late S.C. Stowers, Sr., and Lula Lathem Stowers. Mr. Stowers worked at Gilford Mills, and he retired from the USDA where he worked as a poultry inspector. He was a member of the Murrayville Masonic Lodge #30 F & AM and the Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Buck Truelove, Gainesville; Patsy and Ricky Stephens, Murrayville; grandchildren, Kyle and Blake Truelove; Brant Stephens, great grandchildren, Ansley Truelove, Dylan Truelove, Kaylie Truelove, Tori Truelove, Lucas Stephens and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stowers is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Imogene Smith Stowers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the Cool Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Ricky Stone and Rev. Clifford Allen will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with full Masonic Graveside Rites.
The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday April 17, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Murrayville Masonic Lodge #30 F & AM in memory of Mr. Stowers.
