Richard Fletcher Butterworth

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 4, 2017

Mr. Richard Fletcher Butterworth, age 80, of Flowery Branch passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at The Oaks of Limestone, after an extended illness.

Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

Mr. Butterworth was born April 26, 1936 to the late John Fletcher and Ferol Agnes Butterworth in Gainesville. He was of Methodist faith and retired from Georgia Power in 1992 after a 32 year career. Mr. Butterworth was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend as well as an avid beagler. He was an active member of the of Middle-Georgia Beagle Club.

Mr. Butterworth is survived by his son & daughter's-in-law, Stuart and Dana Butterworth of Eatonton, John and Julie Butterworth of Monument, Colorado and his daughter & son-in-law, Kenneth and Lydia Elinburg of Flowery Branch; his 5 grandchildren; and his siblings, Norman and Doris Butterworth of Canton, Carter and Gwen Butterworth of Gainesville, and Robbie Pruett of Buford, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. Butterworth's honor to Middle-Georgia Beagle Club @ PO Box 126, Ellerslie, Ga 31807-0126 or to American Brace Beagling Association @ 16115 N. State Road 121, Macclenny, Fl 32063.
