Funeral services for Linda Faye Sims Poole, affectionately known by her family and friends simply as "Nena", age 69, of Demorest will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Staci Pealock and Rev. Chad Parham will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Poole passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born on December 21, 1947 in the Charm House in Clarkesville, Georgia, Mrs. Poole was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Minnie Jean Barrett Sims. She was a homemaker and an artist. Nena enjoyed writing poetry, making pottery and jewelry, playing the piano and singing, and especially painting. She attended the Torch.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole is preceded in death by daughter Dawn Toler and brother Charles Wayne Sims.
Survivors include her husband Martin W. Poole of Demorest, son Robert Charles Toler of Habersham, brothers and sisters in law Randy and Robin Sims and David and Jennifer Sims all of Clarkesville, sisters Peggy Herrington of Hazlehurst and Cathy Blackburn of White County, brother in law and sister in law Rex and Ann Poole of Demorest, grandsons Brandon Toler and Trent Toler of Habersham as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Nena Poole Memorial Fund, c/o Hillside Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 305, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
