Claudia "Lucille" Blankenship

Claudia "Lucille" Blankenship, 101, of Cumming, GA passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017.  She is preceded in death by her husband, C. Clyde Blankenship, Sr.; baby daughter, Carol Kathleen, and baby son, C. Clyde Blankenship, Jr.; parents, James and Claudia Young, and 11 siblings.

Survivors are her daughter, Sara Blankenship Edwards; 5 grandchildren, Chip, Cam, Kerrie, Kandace and Kevin; 12 great grandchildren, Kayla, Forrest, Hannah, Quinton, Holly, Matthew, Wyatt, Eli, Glenn, Auggie, Elizabeth and Beau; 3 great great grandchildren, Connor, Chelsie, and Payton.

Mrs. Lucille was born in Ashland, AL and moved to the Valley as a young woman and resided there until her golden years at which time she moved to Cumming to be close to all her sweet babies.  She came from humble beginnings, survived breast cancer 2 times, but never let it define her.  She was a trooper who had a heart of gold, with lots of love to go around.  She was a blessing to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Langdale Cemetery in Valley, AL.
