Mrs. Evelyn Lemley Rice, age 85, of Dawsonville, GA (Lumpkin County), passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her residence.
Evelyn was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was a member of the Fountain Church of God of Prophecy in Dahlonega, GA. Evelyn was retired from the Lumpkin County School System. She manned the guard shack at the school entrance for many years.
Evelyn was the daughter of the late Charlie and Louie Reeves Lemley and she was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bill Rice; and her brother, Charles Lemley.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and James Smith, Dawsonville, GA; her son, Kevin Rice, Dawsonville, GA; sisters, Elizabeth Strickland, Gainesville, GA and Mae Powell, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Michael Trump, Zachary Johns, Kurt Trump, Scott Chastain, and Rhonda Chastain. Numerous other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Evelyn are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Fountain Church of God of Prophecy in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Bo Robinson and Rev. Edwin Puckett will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 2 PM until 9 PM and again on Tuesday from 10 AM until 1 PM.
