Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Bobbie Neal Haynes, age 88 of Cleveland. Bobbie passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30pm, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Funderburke, Rev. Mike Irvin and Rev. Donnie Jarrard officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Bobbie was born in White County on December 11, 1928 to the late Newt Thomas and Rae Ayers Thomas. She had lived in White County her entire life and graduated from Crawford Long Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked for several years in Cleveland with Dr’s Tolhurst and Farbach and was known around the community as an authority on what might be “ailing” a person. Later she would serve on the White County Board of Education (1988-1995) and stayed involved with her church Trinity United Methodist, where over the years she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy James Haynes and son James Timothy Haynes. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Rae Bright, Cleveland and Rebecca Strom (Barry) of Lynchfield, CT; sons, Thomas Buddy ‘Bud” Haynes (Devonne), Clermont and Robbie Haynes (Donna) of Cleveland; sisters, Gwen Christopher (Bob) of Cleveland and Gail Jarrard (Frankie) also of Cleveland. Bobbie is also survived by her grandchildren, Suzanne Jackson ( Darrick), Jon Bright, Bonnie Reilly (Phil), Memori Haynes, Madison Haynes and J.Ben Haynes as well as her great grandchildren, A.J. Haynes, Harper Rae Reilly, James Reilly, Hayes Jackson and Collins Jackson. Bobbie is also also survived by a number of loving nieces, nephews and a great host of those who she considered friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8pm. Flowers will be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church UMW, 5622 Clarks Bridge Rd., Clermont, GA 30527.
