Ruth Schofield

Francis Ruth Schofield, age 91 of Helen, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017.

Mrs. Schofield was born August 17, 1925 in Robertstown, GA to the late Andrew and Elizabeth Abernathy Cantrell. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Chattahoochee United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers William Cantrell, Edward Cantrell, Russell Cantrell, Willard Cantrell, Thomas Cantrell and sister-in-law, Mary Francis Cantrell. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she was loved by many friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Schofield, Helen; son and daughter-in-law, Junior and Juliette York, Cleveland; stepchildren, Tommy Schofield, Dawsonville; Carol Brice, Murphy, NC; Tammy Fernado, Pittsburg, PA; sister, Lois Gee, Helen; sisters-in-law, Loretta Cantrell, Helen; Barbara Cantrell, Helen; Idell Cantrell, Cleveland; Ethel Cantrell, Clayton; grandchildren, Kris and Krystle York, Dawsonville; Keith and Jessica York, Murrayville; Selena York, Gainesville; great grandchildren, Kristi York, Kelli York, both of Dawsonville; Luke York, Julianna York, Jacelyn York, all of Murrayville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Chattahoochee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Keith York, Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Ronnie Dockery will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
