Barbara R. (Zettel) Grubb passed peacefully Sunday March 19, 2017 after a 17-year struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Barbara was born in Detroit Michigan on August 6, 1935. Barbara and Carl met in Detroit and married in January 1955. During her career she worked as a cosmetologist, a phone technician at Western Electric / Lucent Technology, and as an Esthetician at Famous Barr in St. Louis, MO. Barbara and Carl retired to Cumming, Ga in 2003.
Barbara was predeceased by her Husband Carl E. Grubb, her Father Gordon Zettel, her Mother Alice (Luicer) Zettel, her Sister JoAnn Martin and her Great Grandson Bennett Perry. She is survived by her Brother Gordon Zettel and Sister Grace Becht. Her Daughter, Terry Backer (Thomas); Son Carl A. Grubb; Daughter Debbie Van Mill (Karl); Son Keith Grubb (Robin); Son, Mark Grubb (Amy) and Daughter Victoria Erb (Kenneth). Grandson Brian Backer (Jenna), Granddaughter Kelly Perry (Phillip), Granddaughter Katie Steffen (Troy), Granddaughter Erika Barron (Sean), Granddaughter Keri Kilgore (Dustin), Grandson Andrew Van Mill (Ely), Grandson Alex Van Mill, Granddaughter Lauren Grubb, Granddaughter Nicole Grubb, Grandson Mark Grubb II, Granddaughter Morgan Grubb, Granddaughter Jamie Erb, Grandson Kenny Erb, Grandson Kevin Erb. Great Grandchildren: Grant and Owen Backer, Avery and Luke Perry, Declan and Jameson Barron, Peyton, Holden & Parker Kilgore, Landon & Jasper Van Mill.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral home (210 Ingram Ave. Cumming, GA 30040) Saturday March 25, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. A funeral mass will follow at 12:00 pm at St. Brendan’s the Navigator Catholic Church (4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA 30040) with Father Patrick Langan officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens (1390 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, in the name of Barbara R. Grubb, 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor., New York, NY 1001.
