Mary Ruth Bowden, age 77 of Danielsville, GA passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at her residence.
Born on Aug. 16, 1939 in Homer, GA, Mrs. Bowden was the daughter of the late Howard and Clara Bruce Wiley and was the widow of Lee Roy Bowden. She was a homemaker, member of Webbs Creek Baptist Church and is preceded in death by a son, Lee James Bowden, brothers, Bruce Wiley, Sonny Wiley Michael Wiley, and sister, Eva Roberts.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Roy Howard (Toni) Bowden, Conyers; daughters, Louise Bowden, Danielsville, Johnnie R. Roberts, Nicholson, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Mealor (David) McClain, Commerce, Francine Bowden, Danielsville; sister and brother-in-law, Willie (Rev. Donald) Wilson, Commerce; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. James Dumas and Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Webbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 am-2 pm Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
