Mr. Lamar Benjamin Bagwell, 87, of Oakwood, GA, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Myles Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Bagwell was born in Gainesville, GA to the late Emory & Ruth Light Bagwell. He served as a Deacon at the 1st Baptist church of Oakwood for 60 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Flowery Branch for 10years. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of working as a Shop Foreman.
Mr. Bagwell is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ann Hill Bagwell of Oakwood; son & daughter in law, Benny & Susan Bagwell of Flowery Branch; daughter & son in law, Beverly & Don Sheppard of Oakwood; sisters, Montez Cofer of Flowery Branch and Evelyn Jones of Flowery Branch; grandson, Tim Bagwell; five great grandchildren, Wesley, Tes, Trent, August, and Simon Bagwell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson Scott Bagwell; brother, Alwin Bagwell; and sister, Ellen Brown.
