Mrs. Helen Turk McDonald, 86 of Gainesville died Thursday March 16, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mrs. McDonald was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Lelah Mae Chandler Turk. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School, member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she also was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. McDonald was retired from Makita of America.
"Miss Helen" as she was known by many was a kind and generous lady and loved her family very much. She always had a smile for whoever she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Joe Bagby, Flowery Branch; Deborah and David Clark, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lora McDonald, Flowery Branch; grandchildren; Jason and Misty Clark, Gainesville; Justin and Heather Bagby, Flowery Branch; Jeremy and Kristen Clark, Jefferson; Kelly and J.W. Sisson, Gainesville; Parker and Shannon McDonald, Spartanburg, SC; Cassie McDonald, Flowery Branch; great grandchildren, Jayden and Ethan Clark, A.J. and Lane Bagby, Emmy Kate Sisson, Jackson Clark, Harper Sisson; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Turk and Barbara Turk, both of Gainesville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. McDonald is preceded in death by her parents, husband, W. Lee McDonald, brothers, Hugh K. Turk, Marvin Turk, Frank Turk, Bill Turk, nephews Kenny Turk and Greg Turk.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday March 19, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. James Mills, Rev. Jeremy Clark and Rev. Parker McDonald will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday March 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, Ga. 30502 in memory of Mrs. McDonald.
