William Franklin “Frank” Lowery

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 16, 2017

Mr. William Franklin “Frank” Lowery, age 73, of DeFoor Road, Toccoa, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

The son of the late Jesse M. and Nancy Robertson Lowery, he was born on February 7, 1944 in Valley Falls, South Carolina having lived for most of his life in Toccoa.  He was a veteran of The Vietnam War, having served with The 1st Infantry Division of The United States Army. Mr. Lowery later retired from The Georgia National Guard after twenty-four years of service.  He was a member of The V.F.W. Post 4346 and The American Legion Post 104. He also served as Treasurer for The Toccoa/Lavonia Georgia National Guard.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Leland, and John Lowery. 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lovingood Lowery of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tony Gore of Toccoa, a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Angie Lowery of Toccoa, five grandchildren, Dess Gore, Kristianna Gore, Blake Lowery, Ethan Lowery, and Mercedes Weaver, and by a great grandson, Luke Weaver. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 4:00 P.M., at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Dennis Rafala and The Reverend Johnny Thomas officiating. Military Honors will be provided by The Army National Guard Honor Guard and The V.F.W. Post 4346 of Toccoa. 

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and that Memorials be made to The Pointe Church, 111 Fieldcrest Drive, Eastanollee, Ga. 30538, in memory of Mr. William “Frank” Lowery.
