Myrtle Martin

Myrtle Martin, age 86, of Alto, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Mrs. Martin was born on June 4, 1930, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Grady and Cleo Smith Raines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Martin; son, Michael Martin; sister, Grace Free; and brother, Cecil Raines. Mrs. Martin was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for 50 years. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Don Armour, Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Sue Martin, Summerville; brother, J.D. Raines, Gainesville; five grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Jan Devereaux officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
