Charlie Sanders

Mr. Charlie Sanders, 73 of Gainesville died Saturday March 11, 2017.

?A native of Jackson County, Mr. Sanders had lived in Hall County for a number of years.  He was the son of the late Susie Mae  Adams Sanders and T.J. Sanders.  He served in the United States Army, was a former policeman with the City of Atlanta  and was the owner/operator of Peachtree Motors on Atlanta Highway for over 40 years.  Mr. Sanders coached baseball  for a number of years with the Travel Team called the Alley Cats and also with the Oakwood Post# 308  American Legion, he also coached basketball for a number of years at the Boys and Girls Club of Hall County.  Mr. Sanders was a member of Free Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Sanders, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Patty Sanders, Braselton; Wesley and Lisa Sanders, Braselton; Clay and Tonya Sanders, Jefferson; father-in-law, John P. Smith, Jr., Mentone, Alabama;  grandchildren, Nick Sanders, Luke Sanders, Aubree Grace Sanders, Charles Maddox Sanders, Jackson Aiken, Mckay Aiken; brother, Wiley Sanders (late wife Joyce), Cleveland; sisters-in-law, Margaret Sanders, Pendergrass;  Shelia Smith (Bayne Dobbins), Cartersville; Susan Spurling (Jeff) Greenback, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Stanley Smith (Dana), Summerville; special friends, Virginia Moore, Nell Parr, B.J. Sanders Tjepkema, Dr. Tim Fulenwider, Bo LeBlanc, Claudis Moses, Steve Archer, John Cauthen, Ruben McGruder, Larry Berry, Duke Surrett, David Dyer, Javier Reyes, B.K. and Trey Shockley, Jerry Greenway, Glenn Fried, Jerry Freeman. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Mr. Sanders is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Bobbie Sue Smith and a brother, Gerald Sanders.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Free Chapel. Pastor Jentezen Franklin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday March 13, 2017 from 5-8 p.m.
