Bernard David Arckivy

Obituary Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Mr. Bernard David Arckivy, 73, of Gainesville, formerly of Connecticut, New Jersey and Florida, passed away on Tuesday March 07, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  

 The family will receive friends at Memorial Park funeral home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.  Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Matt Stowers will officiate.

Mr. Arckivy was born on February 6, 1944, in Hartford CT. to the late Walter Benjamin Arckivy and Antionette Dorothy Angeloni Arckivy. Mr. Arckivy was a veteran of the US Air Force. He first retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety Division of Consumer Affairs, he later retired from the United States Postal Service after working both in Coral Springs, Florida and Gainesville, Georgia as a supervisor.  He was a lover of all sports especially baseball, and basketball. He excelled in both of these sports in High School.  Mr. Arckivy lived in each of these states for 18 years, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia.

Mr. Arckivy is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kim Marie Ewing (Glenn) of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Thomas Jeffrey Arckivy (Jennifer) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Cody and Cheyenne Ewing; Sierra, Sheridan, Shawn Arckivy; Ashley, Austin, Aaron Larsen; sister and brother in law, Cindy (Lettie) Patterson (Bob) of CT; nephew, Michael Rauza of CT.
