Joseph Patrick Corradi

Mr. Joseph Patrick Corradi, “Joe”, age 73 of Jefferson, Georgia, formerly of Vienna, Ohio, died on March 3, 2017 in Athens, Georgia of Cancer.

He was born on March 17, 1943 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late Giuseppe and Colomba Pisegna Corradi.

Joe was raised in Warren, Ohio, where he was a 1960 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School.  He worked for the Trumbull County Road Department, before landing a job with Packard Electric, a division of GM, where he worked for thirty - three years, retiring in 1997, most of that time he was a foreman in Plant 14.

He had many hobbies including, but not limited to, hunting, cooking, wine making and bee keeping.  Joe enjoyed many arts and crafts, he weaved baskets and also made stained glass.  For a while in Vienna, he had his own business, Corradi Stained Glass, where he taught the art of making stained glass, crafted several lamps, windows, clocks, sun catchers, and did repairs.

Joe was a past member of the Jefferson Lions Club, the Old Timers Hunting Club, and was also a member of the Collelonghesi Society in Warren.

Mr. Corradi was a faithful and founding member of St. Catherine Laboure’ Catholic Church in Jefferson.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Isabelle Russo, who he married on December 28, 1963; his three sons, Joseph T. of Austintown, Ohio, Steven A. (Melisa) of Elberton, Georgia, and Lauro (Darla) of Jefferson, Georgia; five grandchildren, Joseph C. of Brooklyn, New york, Cameron J. (fiancé Rebecca Foley) of Jefferson, Georgia, Alessandra J. of Austintown, Ohio, Megan M. of Jefferson, Georgia and Courtney R. of Dacula, Georgia.  He also has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that mourn his loss.

Other then his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his two sisters, Maddalena P. Marino and Ginevra G. Capito.

Family and friends may visit at Evans Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Catherine Laboure’ Catholic Church, 180 Elrod Road, Jefferson, Georgia on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 12:10 P.M. where Reverend Vincent Sullivan will celebrate Joseph’s life.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday March 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, Ohio, where Rev. Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio will celebrate Joseph’s life. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the Mass at the Basilica. Mr. Corradi was laid to rest in Jefferson, Georgia.
