Mrs. Ruby Jean Barnes Parker age 74 of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday March 07, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extend illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday March 09, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Earl Jarrard, Reverend Ken Anderson, Reverend James Dowdy, and Reverend Thurman Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 08, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Parker was born on May 13, 1942 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Fred Barnes and Fannie Mae Hill Barnes. She was retired from the Board of Education where she worked in the Lunchroom and was a member of Cannan Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret Elizabeth Lancaster, Lounelle Crowe, Emma Jane Forrester, brothers, Thomas Joseph Barnes, Johnny Barnes and Billy Young Barnes.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Thurman Parker of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Judy Ann Transue (Edward) of Cleveland, daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Lynn Anderson (Alton Lee) of Clermont, son and daughter-in-law, Joel Lee Parker (Sharon Ann) of Flowery Branch, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Ann Buice and Leon of Gainesville, sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue Thomas (Earl) of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Fred Junior Barnes (Inez) of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin Barnes (Joan) of Maysville, Ga.
