Roy Eugene Strayhorn

Roy Eugene Strayhorn, age 73, of Murrayville, GA passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

He was a retired poultry farmer and an avid fisherman. He loved the Lord and gospel music.

Roy was the son of the late Thomas and Ruby Collins Strayhorn, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Walker Strayhorn.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ken Loggins, Murrayville, GA; son, James Lee, Tennessee; son, Wendell Lee and his girlfriend, Tracy Johnson, Murrayville, GA; grandchildren, Marvin and Joanne Loggins, Nathan Reyes, Karen and Brent Carder, and Melanie Johnson; girlfriend, Martha Johnson; and special friend, Charles Payne. 5 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Roy are scheduled for 1 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Rev. Bob Garrett will officiate.

Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA from 4 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, March 9,2017, and again from 10 AM until 1 PM on Friday, March 10, 2017.
