Lowell B. Elrod

Funeral services for Lowell B. Elrod, age 81 of Demorest will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Craig Brown officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with the United States Navy Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 6 PM until 8 PM. 

Mr. Elrod passed away Monday, March 6, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Habersham County, Mr. Elrod was born on October 24, 1935.  He was the son of the late Edward and Naomi Moody Elrod.  Mr. Elrod was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Caudell Grading.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Elrod is preceded in death by brothers T.J. Elrod, Ernest Elrod, Aubrey Elrod, and Loy Elrod and sisters Connie Webb, Cleo Bailey, and Mildred Hallford.

Survivors include sister in law Ellen Elrod of Demorest as well as several nieces and nephews.  Lowell was the last member of his immediate family.
