Patricia “Pat” Garner Hughes, age 72 of Gainesville, passed away on March 6, 2017 at her home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Dr. Steve Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
Pat was born on April 23, 1944 in Lexington North Carolina to the late Norman Melton and the late Racie Yarborough Melton. She attended college at Western Carolina. She became a real estate broker and worked for Keller Williams – Lanier Partners. Pat and her husband were members of St. Luke’s Church. She was adorned and cherished by her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her “GiGi.”
Pat is survived by her husband Phillip “Phil” Hughes, of Gainesville; daughters Gina (Keith) Caston and Shelly Garner, all of Gainesville; brothers Norman (Gloria) Melton and Gerry (Terry) Melton all of North Carolina; grandson Harrison Caston; and granddaughters Taylor and Carly Buffington.
