Mr. J.T. "Jake" Shubert, 82 of Gainesville died Monday March 6, 2017.
Born in Banks County, Mr. Shubert was the son of the late Jessie Daniel and Dollie Smith Shubert. Mr. Shubert served in the United States Army and was retired from Hanson Rock Quarry formerly known as Gainesville Stone where he was the Superintendent. He was a member of the Gillsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Keith Shubert, Maysville; sister, Mary Orgeron, Crossville, Tennessee.
Mr. Shubert is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley Spain Shubert.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2017 at the Gillsville Baptist Church. Rev. Shannon Rhodes and Rev. Bill Calhoun will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to Gillsville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 416, Gillsville, Ga. 30543 in memory of Mr. Shubert.
