James (Jim) Childress, 71, of Gainesville, GA passed away March 2, 2017 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Friday night.
He was born in Atlanta, GA on July 21, 1945, to John D. and Ruby Childress. He graduated from Sandy Springs High School in 1964.
He was preceded in death by John, Ruby and Elizabeth Childress, and brother Johnny.
He is survived by wife Jennie Childress, daughters Lisa Childress Honea (Tim) and Tana Holcomb (Doug); son Robbie Horton (Tara); grandsons Mathew Johnson (Amber) and Ryne Davidson (Helen); granddaughters Macy and Kari Davidson, Emme Kate Horton, Payton and Kadie Methvin, and his many nieces, nephews and loving family.
His list of long-time friends is extensive as was his love of life. Boating, motorcycle riding and traveling gave him a life full of joy. He never met a stranger, his positive attitude was infectious, as was his smile.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Gold and Grass Farms, Ballground, GA at 2 p.m.
