Jeffrey Mark Stampfli, 60, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home in Flowery Branch, Ga. He fought a two year battle with an aggressive brain cancer. Jeffrey was born on April 18th 1956 to William and Elizabeth Stampfli in Amityville, New York; he was the youngest of 6 children.
Jeff served proudly in the Navy from March 1976 to March 1980 onboard the USS Saratoga. He had many careers throughout the years, but always proud of his past years as Director of Operations of his beloved Prince of Peach Catholic Church, Flowery Branch, Ga.
The son of a deacon within the Catholic Church, Jeffrey was inspired at a young age to live his faith and act as a light to others. He served his local community through many organizations such as Goodwill of North Georgia, Amigos for Christ, or as a Youth Minister within his local church. Mr. Stampfli was not only a member of the Knights of Columbus for over twenty years, but led the organization through many capacities. Previously serving as a Grand Knight Jeffrey went on to establish a fledgling council in Buford, Georgia that is now over 200 members strong and has a legacy of programs that provide thousands of dollars and thousands of man-hours to his local church and community. He finished his Knights of Columbus career as a District Deputy to multiple councils and as the state chairman for the “People with Intellectual Disabilities” Campaign. This campaign was especially close to his heart as he has a special needs son.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Sinead; daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth Stampfli; sons, Marc, Sean and Ryan Stampfli; brothers, John and Jimmy Stampfli; sisters Judy Permakoff, Jane Rogers and Justine Adams; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Father Eric Hill will officiate. A Vigil Service will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
