Willie Rosario

Willie Rosario, 54, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 after complications resulting from surgery for a ruptured brain aneurysm at North Georgia Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Memorial Park Funeral Home North at 989 Riverside Drive, Gainesville, Georgia 30501. Deacon Joel from Saint Michaels Catholic Church will officiate. The family will be accepting visitors from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Willie was born in Dunkirk, New York on October 8, 1962 to Jose Rosario-Cruz and Juanita Ortiz-Diaz. Willie graduated from Dunkirk High School. He played baseball and hockey growing up. Willie was a lifelong sports fan and supporter of the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Browns, and Syracuse Orange. After moving to the metro-Atlanta area he also supported the Atlanta Braves and Falcons. He played recreational softball for the Smokin’ Aces at George Pierce Park in Suwanee, Georgia. Willie worked installing and refinishing wood floors. Willie was known for his sense of humor and tough-guy exterior but would give the shirt off his back to anyone. His favorite things included Buffalo wings and Italian food, watching sports or documentaries, and talking to anyone who would listen.

Willie is survived by his two daughters, Jordyn and Nicole Rosario; his mother, Juanita Ortiz-Diaz; his siblings, Maria Ochoa, Lillian Correa, Adlai Rosario, Alex Rosario, Kenny Rosario, Jesse Rosario, Lucy Rosario-Monk, and Gregory Rosario; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Willie is preceded in death by his father, Jose Rosario-Cruz, and his grandparents.
