Kathleen Kemp Smith

Mrs. Kathleen Kemp Smith, 89, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Rev. Milton Martin, Jr. will officiate.  Interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

          Born on May 6, 1927, in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Joe Kemp and Dollie Gilstrap Kemp. She was a member of Murrayville Congregational Holiness Church.

          In addition to her parent, Mrs. Kemp is preceded in death by her grandchildren, Tony Smith and Brannon Smith.

          A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Kemp is survived by her daughter, Lynda Black; son, Mitchell Smith; son and daughter in law, Lamar Smith (Donna); sons, Milton Smith, Gary Smith all of Gainesville; 8 grandchildren,; 8 great-grandchildren.
