Cecil Padgett

Cecil Padgett, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born May 11, 1930 to the late Roy and Besey Padgett, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Cecil was formerly employed by Lockheed and worked for Big Canoe until his retirement.  He also did electrical, heat, air and refrigeration service.  Mr. Padgett was also preceded in death by a stepson, Johnathen “John” Satterfield; sister, Evelyn McIntyre; and a brother, Roy Lee Padgett.

Surviving are his wife, Felecia Padgett, Dawsonville; daughters and son in law, Maresa Helton, Dawsonville, Marthenia and Larry Buchanan, Dawsonville; son, Darion Padgett, Dawsonville; stepdaughter, Angel Satterfield, Dahlonega; stepson, Lucas Satterfield, Athens; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 25, 2017 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Max Padgett will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
