Frances Barbara Peck Coker

Mrs. Frances Barbara Peck Coker, 82, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Dr. Tom Smiley and Rev. Tyler Smiley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Born on September 11, 1934, in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Hoyt Irvin Peck and Pauline Dyer Peck. A graduate of Airline School, she was bookkeeper for Lawrence Pharmacy for 25 years. She was a member Lakewood Baptist Church. In her retirement years, she loved attending sports events and all activities that involved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parent, Mrs. Coker is preceded in death by her husband, David Jackson Coker; sister, Joyce Sexton and brother, Irvin Peck.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Coker is survived by her daughter and son in law, Judy Coker Allison and Darwin of Gainesville; son & daughter-in-law, David Jackson III & Mamie Coker of Gainesville, grandchildren, Jack Darwin “Trey” Allison, III, Sarah Allison & Jason Nelms, A. J. Allison and Lindsay, Catie Coker & Tyler Smiley, Caroline Coker & Ryan Vincent and David Jackson Coker, IV and great-grandchildren, Jack Darwin Allison, IV, James Ramsey “JR” Allison and Andrew James Smiley, Matthew David Smiley.
