Myrtle Ophelia Davis, age 88, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Cumming Nursing Center. Ophelia was born in 1928, to the late Joseph and Ollie Standridge. She attended Free Spirit Church of Suwanee, GA, and Antioch Baptist Church in Dawsonville, GA. She will be always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is in preceded in death by her loving husband, Archie “AC” Davis; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her children, James (Brenda) Cook of Dahlonega, Pat (Edwin) Burnett of Cumming, Grace Claudine (Willard) Hamrick of Woodstock, Margaret Gunter of Cumming, Jeanie (Mark) Gilbert of Alpharetta, Cody Davis of Cleveland, and Darlene (Michael) Davis of Cumming; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be Friday, February 24, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Bobby Whitmire, and Rev. Calvin Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
