Mr. Ray Hamilton Martin, 77 of Flowery Branch died Sunday February 19, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County, Mr. Martin had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Howard Hamilton Martin, Sr., and Inez Dalton Martin. Mr. Martin served in the United States Air Force. For a number of years Mr. Martin worked for Martin Mobile Home Sales along with his brother, Ed Martin and then worked for Georgia Printing Company before his retirement. Mr. Martin was a member and deacon of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue W. Martin, Flowery Branch; daughter, Debbie S. Martin, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Blake H. and Becky Martin, Gainesville; grandchildren, Alan J. Turk, Hannah Martin, James Hamilton Martin; brother, Howard Hamilton Martin, Jr., Springfield, Illinois; sister Bobbie N. Martin, Gainesville. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed Martin, Clyde Martin, Wayne Martin, David Martin; sisters, Edna Martin, Bea Sims, Sybil Skelton, Imogene Shope, and Mattie Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 23, 2017 at the Central Baptist Church. Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Boone Strickland will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors, followed by a dove release to conclude the service. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Wednesday February 22, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
