John Allen DeFoor

John Allen DeFoor, age 55, of Clarkesville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. 
John was born in Toccoa to the late Wofford and Elaine Deaton DeFoor.  He had lived the past six years in Habersham County.   
He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Smith DeFoor of Clarkesville; two sons, John Deaton DeFoor of Toccoa and Robert “Rocky” Taft DeFoor of Cumming; step-daughter, Mary Grace “Gracie” Clark of Clarkesville; step-son, Jedidiah “Jed” Walker Clark of Clarkesville; two sisters, Deborah DeFoor Chatham of Sautee-Nacoochee and Nannette DeFoor Fields (Dennis) of Hampton; several nieces and nephews; and a great niece. 
A Celebration of John’s life will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday at River Point Community Church, 350 Ansley Road, Demorest.  Reverend Kevin Mangum and Reverend Peter Knowles will officiate.  Interment will be private. 
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at River Point. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the work of Dr. Stephen Clements at Emory University in care of Gabrielle Stearns, 1440 Clifton Rd. NE Ste 180, Atlanta, Georgia 30322.   
John was a giving person, and his legacy will continue thanks to his selfless act of donation through Lifelink of Georgia.
