Mr. Devroe Earl Standridge, age 88 of Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his residence.
A son of the late Buster and Mahala Long Standridge, he was born October 11, 1928 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was retired from Patterson Pump Company with 49 years of service. He was a member and Deacon of Old Toccoa Baptist Church and was a kind and compassionate man. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Isbell.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Smith Standridge of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Wayne Segars of Toccoa; grandchildren, Josh and Jennifer Segars and Jonah and Kelsey Segars both of Toccoa; three great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Hannah Grace and Haley; sister, Eula Bell Swaney of Cleveland, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017, 11 O’clock A.M in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roger Elrod and The Reverend George Dean officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jonah Segars, Josh Segars, Jarrett Segars, Wayne Segars, Marvin Fulbright and Richard Burton. Honorary pallbearer will be Randy Holland.
The family will be at the home of Jonah Segars, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to Acree-Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. Devroe Standridge.
Interment will follow in the Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Devroe Earl Standridge.
