Willie C. Masters Dodd, age 95 of Homer, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Born in Alto, Georgia, on December 24, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Clyde Masters and Maude Roberts Masters Dodd. Mrs. Dodd was a homemaker and attended Yonah Congregational Holiness Church. She enjoyed playing the guitar and the piano and shared her talent with numerous churches through the years. Mrs. Dodd was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonzo Dodd; son, Charles Dodd; 1 granddaughter; 2 grandsons; brother, Vernon Masters; sisters, Josie Lou McEntire, Geraldine King and Avis Watkins.
Surviving are her daughter, Lynette Reed of Homer; daughters and son-in-laws, Margaret & Homer Shirley of Baldwin, Joann & Rev. John Umberhant of Mt. Airy, Mary Alice & Steve Umberhant of Maysville; son & daughter-in-law, Harold & Alice Dodd of Cornelia; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; sisters, Leona Shore of Cornelia and Vionia Thomas of Eatonton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Yonah Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. John Umberhant and Rev. Lester Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 and again from 12-2 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 prior to the service at the funeral home.
