Shirley Zell Pruitt Simonds

Mrs. Shirley Zell Pruitt Simonds, age 71 of 1420 Rosedale Street, Toccoa passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 in Panama City Beach, Florida.

A daughter of the late George C. and Zell Grizzle Pruitt, she was born July 6, 1945 in Fulton County, Georgia having lived in Canton, Georgia for a number of years and the last 20 years in Toccoa.  She worked with the elderly at Habersham Retreat Assisted Living as Supervisor.  She was a member of the Eastern Star, Ducktown Lodge in Canton, Georgia.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tony Henderson and by five siblings.

Survivors include a two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Charles Green of Toccoa and Cindy Roper and Scott of Panama City Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; three brothers and sister-in-law, Winford Pruitt of Baldwin, Aubrey and Wilma Pruitt and Jerry Pruitt of Roswell; sister and brother-in-law, Wansley and Emerson Payne of Dawsonville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 11 O’clock A.M in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Nathan Roper, The Reverend Barry Payne and The Reverend Ronald Pruitt officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 P.M until 7 P.M.
