Bernard Joseph Lauhoff (BJ), died following an extended illness on February 9, 2017 with his family surrounding him and loving him. He was born in Mendon, Missouri on September 26, 1932, son of Leo and Anna Lauhoff.
He was married to Mary Endres Lauhoff (deceased) and leaves his wife Gloria Lauhoff. He had three children, his daughter Karen Miller (Temecula, CA), his son Kevin Lauhoff (Atlanta, GA) and his daughter Kathy Closson (deceased).
BJ was blessed to have a family who included many:
His daughter-in-law Paula Lauhoff and his son-in-laws: Jim Miller and Chris Closson.
His grandchildren include: Lindsay Shoup, Chelsea Miller, Jonathon Closson, Alexis Miller and Kristen Closson. His great-grandsons include: Bodie Shoup and Kane Smith.
BJ was further loved by the family of Gloria Lauhoff including: Scott and Lori Ackerman and Jodie Weitze and their families: Caleb, Hunter and Chance, Jake Cierra and great-granddaughter Oakley.
His brother and sisters include: Loretta Ann (deceased), Leo Francis, John, Gilbert (deceased) and Kenneth Lauhoff.
After graduating from High School and the United States Air Force, BJ attended the University of Missouri (1956-1962) College of Veterinary Medicine with a degree in Veterinarian Medicine.
In 1962 he moved his family to California and opened his first Veterinary Clinic. He called Palos Verdes home for many years.
BJ had a passion for animals and loved the adventure of motor homing and he traveled for years throughout the country with great friends and acquaintances. He also loved golf.
There will be a private memorial service.
