Barbara Wales Hunter Johnson

Memorial services Barbara Wales Hunter Johnson, age 85 of Clarkesville will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville. 

Mrs. Johnson passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017. 

Born on February 20, 1931 in Dekalb County, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Sterling Ludlow and Onie Ruth Erwin Hunter.  Mrs. Johnson was christened by Dr. Peter Marshall and held memberships in both First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville and First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.  She was a member of the “Soul Sisters” Women’s Bible Study Group and was the corporate secretary for Johnson Railway Service.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by sister Onie Ruth Hunter and daughter Rebecca Johnson Bisher. 

Survivors include husband Hugh L. Johnson, son and daughter in law Chipley “Chip” and Nancy Johnson, grandchildren Kelley Johnson Whisler (Greg), Austin Wales Johnson, Hunter Johnson Sims (John Thomas) and great grandchildren Alice McLaurin Sims and Hugh Pickett Sims.
