David C. Britten

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. David C. Britten, age 89, of Jefferson, who passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Mr. Britten was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, a son to the late William and Emilie Pantlen Britten. Mr. Britten was a Manager in Data Processing, working for a Law Firm in New York City, a Book Publishing Company and the Internal Revenue Service in New Jersey. Mr. Britten was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Britten was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Doris Britten.

Survivors include daughter, Debra A. Grashorn and her husband, George E. Grashorn of Jefferson, grandchildren, Dave Grashorn of Colonia, NJ and his spouse Robin; Dawn V. Grashorn of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren, Yvonne Ruth Grashorn and Ava Marie Grashorn of Shamong, NJ and step-great grandchildren, Amanda Isabella Kavaja and Shannon Lynn Kavaja of Colonia, NJ; Daughter, Donna Britten Harding of Lebanon, NJ, grandchildren, Kristen Ann Harding, Somerville, NJ, Kimberly Marie Harding, Bridgewater, NJ, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Harding, Bridgewater, NJ, L. Michael Harding, Hoboken, NJ and Kerianne Catherine Harding, of Hamilton, NJ.

The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Jefferson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Laskey officiating. The burial will follow in the Evans Memory Gardens. The visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 4 -6 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
