Shirley Ann Smith

Miss Shirley Ann Smith, age 74 of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2017 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.

A daughter of the late Reid and Emma Moore Smith, she was born October 6, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Chamblee, Georgia. After a 30 year career with the U.S. Forest Service in Atlanta, she moved back to her hometown of Toccoa in 2009.  She was a member of Chamblee First Baptist Church. For a number of years she was an “Estate Sale/Yard Sale” addict and her family reaped the benefit of her many “finds” and “treasures”.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Quida Poole and by five brothers, Boyd, Charles, Harry, Don and Dwight.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jimmy Shore of Martin, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 2017, 11 O’clock A.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Tillie Welborn officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Danny Shore, Jerry Shore, Reid Poole, Kenneth Smith, Richard Smith and Pat Adkins.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the service time.  Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Miss Shirley Ann Smith.
