Richard Jay Friend

Mr. Richard Jay Friend age 63 of Maysville passed away on Monday January 23, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday January 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Jason Palmer will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday January 27, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. Friend was born on February 24, 1953 in Steubenville, Ohio to Albert Morgan Friend. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from being self-employed.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Friend of Gainesville, daughter, Candida Bearden of Braselton, daughter, Misty King of Cleveland, son, Clayton Friend of Naples, son, Ricky Powell of Texas, son, Alan Powell of Texas, 7 grandchildren, sisters, Linda Simmons of Clermont, Juli Dunagan of Cleveland, Vicki Chadwick of Ohio, brothers, Gary Dawson of Maysville, and Petey Friend of Dahlonega.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
